What’s On in May at The Falkners Arms

The Falkners Arms

The Falkners Arms

We’re just days away from one of the highlights of the year, our Family Fun Day which will be held on Sunday 5th May and promises to be a cracking day for all the family.

This year’s attractions include traditional side stalls, Shetland pony rides, giant inflatables and your chance to operate an Army 25-ton crane, and pit your skills with Beat The Goalie, Beat The Batsman and Nearest The Pin.

There’ll be live music throughout the afternoon from ‘Elvis’ and his friends and the fun will go on well into the night with The Mays, who always bring the house down.

We’ll be holding a grand auction with some brilliant lots on offer, including London hotel breaks, spa days, golf packages, a hot air balloon flight for two and an England football shirt that was worn in a recent international match and has been signed by the England squad.

We’re very proud to have raised over FORTY THOUSAND POUNDS for national and local charities and good causes since we started our Fun Days back in 2010. This year we’re fundraising for ‘The Dream Factory’, which grants wishes and makes dreams come true to bring hope and happiness to children and young adults aged 3-25 years who have life threatening conditions or severe disabilities.

Full timetable for the day is:

12 noon                     Fun Day opens
1:30pm                     Three-legged races: under 7s, under 15s, adult
2:00pm                     Opening of new Play park footbridge

Hope to see you there for what promises to be a great day out for all the family.

If that’s not enough there’s even more entertainment from the very best bands that we can find coming your way this month…

On the sports front, there’s the FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Wigan on the 11th, and whilst the Premier League title’s already heading back to its rightful home there’s plenty more to play for with Champions League places up for grabs, and a few teams still trying to avoid the dreaded drop.

The Germans will be invading these shores again when two of their finest face each other in the Champions League Final at Wembley on 19th, there are the Championship, League One and League Two Play Off finals before England play a friendly International against Republic of Ireland to bring the season to a close.

See all the matches.

…and finally, if you have or know of any budding young musicians out there we’ll be holding a ‘Junior Live’ event from 2 – 4pm on 11th May, giving children up to the age of 13 the chance to sing or play a musical instrument on stage. See the leaflet for details of how to pre-book.

We hope to see you soon.
