What’s On in April at The Falkners Arms
Welcome to ‘What’s On’ for April, and another fantastic month of cracking entertainment coming your way…
And we start with the highlight of our year, our annual Family Fun Day, which is traditionally held on the Sunday of the first May Bank Holiday weekend and so this year’s event falls in April for the first time since we started back in 2010.
We have selected a wonderful charity as our fundraising focus for 2017 and we’re delighted that our activities will be for the benefit of Parity for Disability, which provides services and support for people with profound and multiple disabilities, see www.parityfordisability.org.uk, so please come along and support this wonderful cause.
Fun Day will once again include traditional side stalls, pony rides, giant inflatables, kiddies’ rides and your chance to test your skills with Beat The Goalie, Nearest The Pin, Welly Wanging and the ever popular –and messy – Catch the Egg! We’ll also be featuring classic family fun races such as egg ‘n spoon race, three-legged race, sack race, wheelbarrow race…great fun!
There’ll be live music on the outdoor stage throughout the afternoon and the party will carry on into the evening with one of favourites, the ultimate live 70s and 80s disco band, Hooky!
There’ll be a grand auction at the end of the afternoon with some brilliant lots and a raffle with some belting prizes too.
Entry is free and there’s free parking within 200 yards of the event, just follow the signs on the day. Hope to see you there for what promises to be a great day out for all the family. The fun starts at noon.
…and as this event gets bigger and better every year we have a growing need for even more volunteers to help us make the afternoon smoothly. Please let us know by replying to this email or giving your name at the bar if you are able to spare a just couple of hours to help and support this wonderful cause…and there will be a free beer and burger waiting for you on the day 🙂
An update on our specially-equipped Variety Sunshine Coach…as you know we reached our £27,000 target at Christmas-time to fund the minibus and we have found another hugely deserving local charity that we hope to be able to present it to. Their formal application is at an advanced stage and we’ll be able to give full details as soon as that has been approved…watch this space!
Now, onto what else is coming up this month at the hottest venue in town…
On the sports front…
All the usual suspects in action as the football season nears its exciting climax, plus the Grand National on 8th April – come in and have a flutter on the sweepstake!
See all the fixtures here.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
